“Easter?” you say, “Why, Easter was weeks ago. Why tell us about it now?” Well, because I have pictures that are cute and memories to record, even if it is so very late.
This is actually the first year we’ve done much for Easter. When we were only a married couple with a baby, it is hard to start traditions that are mainly for the kids. But now we’re a family of four with a toddler, so this year we bought baskets, a dozen plastic eggs and some plastic grass.
We began the holiday with an Egg Hunt at a park, organized by some friends. Kristen got some very cute pictures.
Kaela and I dyed Easter eggs (Eliora was sleeping and Daddy was at Priesthood session of conference).
I have found that with messy projects, the best thing to do is to remove her shirt and put on the apron I made her. Then there is no scrubbing out clothes (which is something I have an aversion to). We had a mutiny against smiling. (“No smile, no camra!”)
In the morning, we had hid the plastic eggs around the living room and hid our baskets. There are not many places to hide Easter baskets in one little room lined with furniture, but it did take Lee more than just a glance to find his. Kaela loved finding the eggs – we hid them again and again for days.
We have a couple cute videos to insert here, but I can’t get any of my movie makers to work, so we’ll just have to post them later….
For dinner I made ham, augratin potatoes, deviled eggs, and asparagus. We had cheesecake for dessert.
I made a ham glaze from root beer and it was SO YUMMY! Kaela was asking for ham and ta-os (potatoes) for days afterwards.
Tender Traditions. I love it!

Sounds like a fantastic Easter! I"m still pretty lazy about holiday traditions... since we live close, my mommy mostly still does those kinds of things for me... Some day I know I'll have to grow up, but just not yet :)
