I am happy to report that Kaela and Eliora seem to get along quite well. I must say that I was petrified that the first month would be so hard as Kaela suddenly had a rival for all of my attention, but it hasn’t been bad at all. For the most part Kaela ignores the baby and Eliora sleeps. But when they do interact, it is positive.
We put Eliora on the floor for tummy time and without fail, Kaela will run and grab her own blanket, put it on the floor and lay down next to her little sister.
She likes to mimic me with her own baby doll. When I am nursing, she will go and get a pillow and put the baby on her lap with a bottle.
Today was the very first time that Kaela asked if she could hold her baby sister. It is adorable.
We hope for many years of good sister time.
So cute! Sister interaction is THE BEST!!
ReplyDeleteOh these pictures are so cute. I too am so nervous about how Isaac is going to deal with having to share all of his attention with a new one but I am hoping that he adjust as quick as Kaela did.
ReplyDeleteSee, this is why all first children should be girls! They are more likely to be naturally motherly, so any subsequent siblings are taken care of like any good baby doll :)
