Visiting Boston

Week before last Lee had a conference to attend in Boston.  He had gotten a scholarship from it last year to attend and the ARMY was sending him for work, meaning that two outside parties would foot the bill.  Because of that, we used the spare change to book the whole family tickets and fly back to see all the things and people we have been missing.

The weather was gorgeous.  Maybe because I was so excited to leave our never changing blue skies and 95 degree weather.  Boston was cool with a bit of rain and the leaves were all just starting to change.

We were able to spend time with friends and say good-bye for real this time.  We don’t know if or when we will ever be going back and it was nice to have one last farewell.  It was great for Kaela to see Elliott, Andrew, and Colby again.

IMG_0197  The first day Lee put me on the train, took one bag and I the other to go check into the hotel while he checked into the conference.  I got lost in the T parking garage with all that. I am begging you to laugh.  Which one is the hardest for me to lift over the wall? (It was only about 3’.)  The 35 lb child, the 30 lb stroller, the 50 lb suitcase, or the 140 lb pregnant woman?  It wasn’t the suitcase.

We did lots of stuff with nothing but our public transportation pass and our stroller – we didn’t take naps, stayed out till 11:00 at night, and played and played etc.  We visited the children’s museum, libraries, parks, Lee’s school (stairs!  4 flight up!), lots of friends.  It was a wonderful vacation because there was no one to please but ourselves, no uncertainty of where we were, just familiar yet different places.

We even got to go with Todd, Danielle, and Colby to the circus downtown.  I had never been to a real 3 Ring Circus and it was quite impressive.  We had great seats and I have so many pictures and amazing videos, that I’ll have to post again.

Do I look 7 months pregnant?

Oh, and did I mention that we were there for a conference?  Here is my handsome husband all dressed up in uniform by his poster.
