I thought I would do a quick outline of our whole month long road trip on our way from San Antonio up to La Center, WA to share some of our pictures of our many adventures.
We left San Antonio the 18th of May and drove about 20 hours to arrive in Kanab, UT. There were many potty break along the way, and it ended up being quite a few more than 20 hours, but we did make it the next morning by driving straight through the night.
We stopped at Lee’s grandparents’ house to enjoy their company.
Eliora loved their Boston bull-terrier named Baxter. She would hold her hand up to his nose and giggle wildly when he licked it.
Grandpa took us out riding in his jeep across mostly untraveled trails of southern Utah. Kaela loved it.
They also took us to Pipe Springs, an old Mormon fort. Supposedly somewhere there is a picture of Lee is this same wagon. That is why we ignored the sign that says, “Keep Off”.
We were grossly under-prepared for the weather. In May and June we were experiencing mostly days in the 90s in TX, and thought we’d be in for some nice 70-80 degree weather. But the gods of Utah nature had decreed it only be on the 50s, so we had to borrow jackets.
Luckily we found a small one for Eliora, and only Kaela had to be drowned in Grandma’s blue jacket.
We had lots of fun at the Coral Pink Sand Dunes, mostly dumping and sifting.
I am sad to say that in the whole trip, I didn’t get a single picture of Lee’s wonderful grandparents, Jay and Mignon Johnson.
