Ok, so I honestly can’t say I feel too much remorse for this one:
So when we left Boston, we sold our piano on Criagslist, and despite having lost it I was still asked to play in our ward in Madrid. I had to go to the Church during the week to practice. I told Kristin I really wanted to replace the piano, and that I wanted to get a nice one that would last a long time and that I would love to play. So after several weeks of browsing and comparing prices online, we finally went down to a local piano dealer. I got to sit down and play on several, and we finally found one that we loved. We went home and thought about it, and then finally took the plunge. This 6’1” shiny black thing is the newest addition to our home, and we are in love with it (especially Eliora, as you can see). It was kept in a church and only used for recitals, so it was practically new even though we got it for a lot less than we would have expected.
On other notes, this week we arrived here in San Antonio! We love it here (now that everyone has recovered from the jetlag). The ward is friendly, our apartment is only 5 minutes from my work – we couldn’t ask for much more. This last weekend I day-rented a U-Haul and spent the afternoon chasing Craigslist ads to replace all the furniture that we got rid of when we moved away from Boston.
Beds are still on the list. Oh, and for the first time in our married life we have a table where the chairs actually MATCH the table! It truly feels like our student lives are almost over. . .
Anyway, our house is getting set up, Kaela is very excited now that we are in Texas (she says so frequently, though I’m not sure she understands what Texas is), and all in all life is good.
