Sleeping Arrangements

We have been disassembling our home piece by piece so that by December 1st we can drive out of here and leave nothing behind.  Everything must fit in our Ford Expedition or be gone.  So our Craigslist account has been very useful. The first thing to go was the couch.  It was a stained, old, worn couch that I cleaned up a bit and got more $ for than we paid for it (it was free!).  The next thing to go was our piano because it was so large and someone just learning piano came and said it was just what she wanted.  But the thing that has changed the most is we got rid of our bed, Kaela’s bed and the crib.  Then, you ask, what are we all sleeping on?  Well, we wanted something small and portable that we could take with us to Spain if need be.  So Lee and I are sleeping on a giant airmattress.  On Amazon.com,  24” doesn’t sound so tall, but when our bed is made, you would not know it was just an airmattress.

For Kaela we have a cute little cot.  It fold up like a camp chair and is tiny. She is so excited about her new bed and loves to sleep on it.  You can see a pretty good view of it in our “Wiggles” post.IMG_0060

Eliora’s is my favorite.  It is a baby tent that fold on a wire frame into a 12” circle.  It has an inflatable mattress that you put inside a pocket to keep her safe and comfortable.  We can take this with us anywhere and when we close up the zipper, she falls right asleep.

So, with three weeks till we move, what is left in our house?  Well, not much as far as furnishings go – we still have a kitchen table and a computer desk, but the chairs are borrowed as well as a couch and dresser.  Hopefully by the time we go, it will all be returned, sold or just gotten rid of.  We are excited that our move will only move the more critical things with us.  It is nice to be downsizing.  Smile

  5. Love the baby tent! I think I'll have to invest in one of those in the future for trips to G&G's house in Oregon!
