Ok, so I’ve been dreading writing this, just because I know there are lots of people that might worry when they read this. Nevertheless, I figure I’m the one that has to write this entry, even though Kristin and I BOTH made this decision. :-) So I’d better get on with it.
So the short of what I’m going to explain is that Kristin and I have replaced the motorcycle. We’ve adopted a beautiful deep blue cruiser shown below. It’s a 2006 Honda VTX1300R, and we managed to find it hidden away in a little dealer on the south shore with barely 1500 miles on it. We haven’t decided upon a name yet, but we’re sure it’ll make a wonderful addition to our family.
We figured that if we got it now, I can use it to travel to and from clinic for much of the fall and spring semesters. This is especially true since this fall I’m assigned at clinic Wednesdays at the VA in Providence, RI, which is an hour drive from our house, and I have to be there at 7:30 am <yawn>. A large part of the decision was also that we didn’t want Kristin to be without a car 5 days a week once rotations start next May.
Now I know some (perhaps many) of you are thinking, “And when these things have passed away a speedy destruction cometh. . .” (2 Nephi 26:10). Or perhaps “. . .those who have been destroyed have been destroyed speedily. . .” I can only respond with “. . .And they all spake, save it were three, saying: We desire that after we have lived unto the age of man, that our ministry, wherein thou hast called us, may have an end, that we may speedily come unto thee in thy kingdom.” (3 Nephi 28:2). Oh wait, maybe that wasn’t the best response. Hmm, this one’s ok, “And he will lift up an ensign to the nations from far, and will hiss unto them from the end of the earth; and behold, they shall come with speed swiftly. . .” (2 Nephi 15:26) Well, anyway, there are a few good motorcycle scriptures, but not many, it seems.
Here are some family shots. Even Patches has a place.

LOVE IT! Motorcycles are a great economical mode of transportation. Once you get used to the drive style and are aware that you are the little guy on the road, it can be fun. Jay has had his for several years now and LOVES IT! He says it is time to upgrade him and I can start on his "little" one. Enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteOh and leatherup.com is a GREAT sight for accessories at AMAZING prices!
I love that Patches is on there too!
ReplyDeleteYou're very creative Lee with the scriptures. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteLove it love it love it....and especially the color. Fun stuff! I made Jam with Karalee the other day. You'll have to check out the pics on my blog. Love ya sis!
ReplyDeleteps.....have a name for that baby yet
That's exciting. What is life if you spend it worrying instead of enjoying it? But I have learned one thing about motorcycles that perhaps could help you. I used to hate loud motorcycles thinking they just made their bikes loud to be obnoxious (and well some are). However some noise is a safety feature. If you are loud cars hear you even if they do not see you. So perhaps you would want to consider a new exhaust pipe?
ReplyDeleteI need more posts. How is the Pregnancy? Are you feeling any better. What does Kaela think of a new little one on the way? Have you talked about names? Did you know that I love you and miss you? I need More! Lots More....so if you have the time give me a call.
ReplyDeleteJon may be a little jealous... We got a minivan :) Not exactly his idea of a Hott Fun ride, but at least it's functional...
ReplyDeleteAnyway... Sorry, Lee, Jon still won't ever have a murder-cycle... I mean... MOTERcycle... (that's my grandpa's old joke... probably not that funny, but you know me and puns...) but feel free to breathe underwater (aka SCUBA) with him anytime :)
